The first IAGLCWDC Championship Dance Competition was held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, during the Sundance Hoedown which was also the 5th Annual IAGLCWDC Annual Convention, hosted by Southern Country South Florida.

Championship Competitions have been held at our Annual Conventions every year since then, and member clubs have hosted sanctioned competitions in between. In the past few years other organizations have sought to use IAGLCWDC Dance Competition Rules as the official rules for their dancesport events.
