• Badges, Bars, and Dangles

  All members of the IAGLCWDC are encouraged to keep up the fine tradition of wearing the official IAGLCWDC badge along with the individual's bars and dangles. Bars can indicate your club, your name, your nickname, or whatever. Dangles indicate the previous conventions you have attended.

  Orders are handled by our Dangle Diva and our Dangle Diva Princess.

  You can pre-order online up to 45 days prior to the convention if you want them by convention time. Orders can be mailed to you any time. Dangles and a limited supply of badges will also be available at the Dangle Table located by the Registration Table at the hoedown.

  
  

• Club Banners

  IAGLCWDC Member Clubs proudly display their Club Banners in the main ballroom for all to see.

  Each club should contact the Planning Committee to find out the procedure for getting their banner to The Peach Stampede. Do it early because most hotels require that banners be hung by their own personnel and they charge a fee per banner.

  
  

• The Golden Hoe Award

  The Golden Hoe Award is awarded at each convention to the person who is "... outrageous, noticed, and generally, through his or her actions, made sure that he/she and others had the best damn time at the convention".

  A ballot box and special ballots are placed at the Registration Table and the winner is announced at the General Membership Meeting during the traditional Sunday Brunch. Any registered attendee can vote and ballot stuffing is allowed!

• The IAGLCWDC Toast

  A tradition since 1997, the official drink is the CCS/CCL (the first "C" stands for "cowboy" or "cowgirl"). There's something special for "virgins" participating in the toast for the first time. The glasses are raised and all say, "Here's to not leaving this city in the same condition that we found it!" Then the glasses are emptied <smile>. Look for this to happen at least once during the weekend.

  Originally, a song was included in the toast, but more recently it is omitted.

• The Basket Auction

  It has been a tradition in the past for all clubs to bring a basket full of items representing their home town or area for the Basket Auction. The baskets were on display all weekend during a silent auction. Winners were typically announced during the traditional Sunday Brunch.

  Funds from Gift Basket Auctions provided "seed money" for future conventions, splitting the proceeds between the current convention host and the host of the convention one year out.

  This time around, at the Peach Stampede, the planning committee has decided not to organize a basket auction. They are considering alternative forms of silent auction and other fundraising methods instead.

• Sunday Brunch

  The Sunday Brunch, though not a requirement to host a convention, has become the traditional event that doubles as the IAGLCWDC General Membership Meeting.

  Gays for Patsy (Boston 1997) and Club Bolo (Montréal 2003) had dinners instead.

  This time, at The Peach Stampede, we'll have the Sunday brunch. It is an opportunity for attendees to socialize with each other over a nice meal, to thank the contributors and sponsors of the weekend, and to bring together our international community.
