You can get to the host hotel from the airport by taxi or by the MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority), Atlanta's mass-transit system. The MARTA is definitely the cheapest way to go if you don't have tons of luggage--just $1.75!

Once inside the airport, signs pointing to the MARTA are everywhere. Trains run basically every 5 to 10 minutes from 05:30 (5:30am) to 01:00 (1:00am). The trip to the hotel takes under 20 minutes. Get off at Midtown (N4 on the map) and you'll be just six blocks from the hotel.

When leaving the Marta station (N4) you are near the intersection of 10th street and West Peachtree Street. Walk 2 blocks east on 10th street to the corner of 10th and Peachtree Street (NOTE: West Peachtree and Peachtree are two different streets). The landmarks on this corner will be the Margaret Mitchell House on the right, and the Federal Reserve Building on the left. Turn left onto Peachtree Street. Walk up 4 blocks North to 14th Street. The Midtown Sheraton will be on the right on the corner of 14th and Peachtree St.

MARTA, The mass transit system is adding a special "Tourist Shuttle Service" for both downtown and Midtown. The bus runs every half hour and takes you to the tourists sites in the Midtown area. It goes right past the Sheraton Midtown. And it stops at the MARTA rail station in Midtown. So that is another good way to go after you get off the train.

The shuttle also goes to walking distance of Hoedowns. The only problem is that it is not a late night bus, ending its service around 8:00 PM.

If you don't like public transportation, taxis, shuttles, vans, and limousines are waiting everywhere to whisk you away to the hotel--for prices reasonable compared to other major cities.
